Life Cycle Analysis

Rolcar SA

As part of a strategy aimed at continuous improvement and stricter environmental management, at Rolcar we began in 2025 a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) that encompasses all our operations in all our branches, with the objective of having a solid technical basis for future decision-making.

The study is being developed in the five dealerships of Rolcar, located in Tucumán, Salta, Jujuy, and Santiago del Estero, and extends from April 2025 to February 2026, at which time we will receive the final report. The process is being carried out with the technical support of Cyklos, composed of Dr. Ing. Andrea Nishihara Hun and Dr. Ing. Fernando Mele.

Measuring to understand: what is Life Cycle Analysis?

Life Cycle Analysis is an internationally recognized tool that allows us to identify the environmental impacts associated with a product, service, or process throughout all its stages, from origin to its exit from the organization. In the case of Rolcar, the analysis considers the journey of the units — trucks, vans, and cars — from the time they leave the factory, their transport and passage through the branches, their exit from the dealership, and the after-sales services allowing us to evaluate the ecological footprint, water footprint, carbon footprint, and other indicators of the dealership processes under a methodology based on international standards such as ISO 14040, ISO 14064, and ISO 14067.

In parallel to the technical survey, the process is supported by a training program on the topics related to each stage, so that all employees can know and understand the importance of this process. The workshops covered topics such as: life cycle thinking, greenhouse gases, circular economy, and calculation, mitigation strategies, and reduction and compensation of carbon footprint. The incorporation of training was key for us, as building internal knowledge strengthens the organizational culture aimed at sustainable and continuous improvement that we seek to instill in all companies.

A strategic decision with a long-term perspective

The Life Cycle Analysis at Rolcar aims to survey the available inventories, analyze emissions associated with each stage of operation, calculate the inventory of emissions and consumption, and establish an environmental baseline that allows us to prioritize improvement actions and standardize management criteria.

Although the final results will be available in the first quarter of 2026, for ROMAR this is already a strategic milestone: This is the first Life Cycle Analysis conducted within the group, positioning us as an organization that acts out of conviction and consistently with its environmental policy.

Once completed, the Action Plan based on the results of the analysis will serve as a key input for future improvement plans and as a reference for new measurements. Although there are currently no plans to implement the methodology in the rest of the group in the short term, we understand that each advance in one of our companies paves the way to replicate learnings and best practices.
